KAIZEN HEALTH - USA
THE CHALLENGES
They had very limited resources for the whole project right from the start.
- Getting the right requirements
- Align with compliances of a big trading partner like United Healthcare Group
- None of their team members have any functional knowledge of EDI 837P
- Limited timeline: Their development team tried this for a while, and they couldn't deliver it and wasted lots of project timeline
THE SOLUTION
01. Discovery & Analysis
- Audited AS-IS architecture, CargoWise (CW1) workflows, and CargoWise EDI modules
- Mapped trading partner profiles and core transaction sets (850, 856, 315, 214)
02. Solution Design
- Architected a TO-BE Azure environment leveraging Azure Logic Apps, XSLT/Liquid templates, and Azure Blob Storage for file staging
- Designed modular Azure Functions for custom backend handling
03. Development & Testing
- Engineered Python-based Azure Functions and custom translation maps for inbound (850) and outbound (856, 315, 214) EDI flows
- Configured automated Azure Logic Apps to handle active routing and data transformations
04. Cutover & Go-Live
- Executed a seamless deployment of all EDI integration interfaces directly into production
05. Hypercare & Support
- Maintained active tracking across Azure Logic Apps, SFTP transmissions, and EDI throughput
- Resolved operational updates (such as ASN requirement updates for the HEK branch) and performed root-cause analysis on exceptions
- Optimized workflow performance before transitioning to steady-state support
